Neutrogena Wave Duo Review
Sep 2nd
I’ve heard about the Neutrogena Wave cleanser before and was quite curious to try it, but never really got around to it cos the idea of a machine with batteries and buttons was too complicated for my mind to wrap around hehe. So I stuck to my good ol’ bar soap.
But anyway, Coleen sent me the Neutrogena Wave Duo to try, so I did!

Introduction
The Neutrogena wave duo is a battery-operated power cleanser with 2 different speeds for both gentle and deep-pore cleansing.
It penetrates up to 10 times deeper than a traditional cleanser to remove dirt and oil from pores, and dead cells from the skin surface.
Included in the Box
- The cleanser
- 14 pads
- AA battery
Pricing
Kit at RRP S$16.10. Refills at S$13.20 for 15-day supply.
Limited offer S$ off coupon at http://www.neutrogena.com.sg from now to 30 September 2010.
Okay now that the boring stuff is out of the way, on to the review!
On the box it says “remove battery door by gently pressing the latch”. Au contraire. Not so easy, it turns out. I spent about 2 minutes pressing not-so-gently to pry it out. Eeps.
When it’s open it looks like this:

After I got the battery in and the pad attached to the top, I started washing my face!

Advantages
Cleaner and softer skin: I tried the higher speed, which is supposed to deep cleanse, and my skin did feel a lot cleaner after it. It also felt softer, which I did not expect! I suppose that was an effect of the exfoliation.
The effect of a cleanser on your skin should be the most important consideration when getting a cleanser, so do attribute more weight to this!
Fun: It is an unusual way to cleanse your face so an advantage is the novelty factor, haha.
Disadvantages
Vibrations too strong: The vibrations from the cleanser were way too powerful and made my hand a bit numb after cleansing.
Refills: Depending on how troublesome you find buying refills when you run out of pads, this could be a disadvantage.
Other Notes
As with all deep cleansers, the skin tends to be a little bit dryer afterwards so always moisturize well or if possible, use a hydrating mask!
The Face Shop Pore Minimizer Review
Jul 19th

Bought this a couple of weeks ago… and…. eh what! I don’t shop everyday, ok! I can’t help it if my mask finishes… *voice trails off + shifty eyes*
Anyway, it’s a deep cleansing clay mask. I was previously using the much raved about St Ive’s Blue Clay Mask… and hmm, I can’t really say which is better.
Price: Both are quite cheap. This one is only about $14, the St Ive’s was around… $9?
Scent: This has a slight fragrance. I don’t really like fragrance in face products, but some people may. So this part is pretty much up to personal preferance.
Texture: This is really fluid compared to St Ive’s. Think gelato to cookie batter. I don’t really like it cos everything spreads too thinly and it’s so liquid that it takes way longer to dry (15-20mins?).
Effect: The Face Shop mask would be more suitable for dry or sensitive skin. It feels gentler, unlike St Ive’s which feels like it’s sucking everything out and drying up your face (which can be a good thing if you have majorly dirty pores and oily skin).
Overall: It’s not a mask that made me go wow but it does its job alright. I’m still in search of my holy grail clay mask!
OPI Sweet As Annie-thing Review
Apr 2nd
These are my nails in OPI Sweet as Annie-thing! I love the colour max!! Did it at Orchard Central B1 for only $6 hehehe.
The shade is towards a more orangey sort of red, with very subtle shimmers that can only be observed upon close inspection. Love how it sparkles ever so slightly as it catches the light.
Am gonna buy it for myself. Squeal. Hee.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mask Review
Apr 1st
Today I left work at 5:45pm, reached home at 6:30, had dinner and then went to bed.
The feeling is how shiok ok! The next question you should be asking is then why on earth am I awake and blogging now at 1:08am. The answer is… that I forgot to remove my earrings… so my ears pain la. *cue anti-climatic sound*
Anyway since I was awake, decided to try the mask Coleen kindly sent me! Have it on my face now as I’m typing, hehe.

This one! Before I write anything I think I should say that I was not paid to do this so this is a review, not an advertorial.
So I mean it when I say I really love it! I’m not sure how much it costs but dammit I’m gonna stop being a cheapo & solely using My Beauty Diary masks. –_-“
The texture is really interesting! It’s like this netted thingy… aiya a photo would do better than me in describing texture. Nar:

Cool right!? And the netted thing feels really different from the usual sheet masks; it feels like the mask adheres to my skin more & just generally feels better than the normal type!
Ok going to take the mask off… (this sounds damn emo)
Hmm overall I think:
- Hydrating effect is good; my skin feels much more supple & smooth. The skin on the side of my face was a bit rough, now it’s powdery smooth hehe.
- The essence doesn’t have the slightly sticky texture that some masks have… which is nice! Just barely 5 mins after I took the mask off, the essence has fully been absorbed n my skin feels completely non-sticky.
- Not much brightening effect… then again it’s not a whitening mask.
I would probably use this alternately with a whitening/brightening mask…heh can’t wait to try the rest of the range!
And like all happy posts should end (with a cute photo), here it is!
A cute thing doing a cute thing!
I’m happy to announce that 1) The small kitten has a name now; he’s called Handsome.
2) Him & Kitty are friends and 3) My mummy heart soft and agree to keep him already.
Ehehehehe my evil plans… *rubs palms together* they haz succeeded!
OPI California Raspberry Swatch
Dec 16th
2 coats, indoors, no flash.
This is the swatch for OPI California Raspberry! My first red polish!
Colour
I would describe the red as a very rich, well raspberry shade (duh). Depending on what clothes you match it with, the overall vibe it gives can be very Spring (think emerald green and florals), Summer (think yellow sundresses and flipflops), Autumn (think brown trench coats) or Winter (think sleighbells and fireplaces!).
In short, it’s super versatile.
Finish
There is a sheen to it but it’s not shimmery or glittery at all. Kind of pearlescent…
Overall
It’s a pretty good red to try if you’ve never worn red polish before and are afraid that it may look too mature/harsh/unflattering. The shade of red looks vibrant without being tacky.
I would think it suits most fair skintones.
