Taiwan – Day 8 of 8

This post signifies the end of procrastination hahaha.

Ok we’re finally at the last day! I don’t think this is what is supposed to happen during holidays, but I was dying to get home and dive under my blanket.

The coach we spent too much time in.

Nicely designed shopping center near airport.

Lunch! Was not a very exciting meal, but it tasted ok. Yes I remember the taste. For some reason.

Cute cafe the boyfriend and I went while waiting for the mum to finish shopping.

Delish waffles!

Mum & I.

I know I’m supposed to wrap things up nicely here and write about my overall impressions or something like that but seriously… I have nothing I really want to say.

The end. 2 ends! The end of this 2008 trip which was only blogged about in 2009, and the end of 2009 woohooo.

Happy new year everyone. :D

Dinner with Minniebuns

Had dinner with Minnie at Cha Cha Cha @ Holland Village.

The food was not bad! I liked the sour cream and guacamole dips hehe. :) They went really well with whatever it was that they served. Can’t remember the names for the life of me. It was all espanol to me. (Like it was all greek, geddit? Hahahhaa, haha, ha… ha… *coughs*)

Chips with salsa.

Fajitas… or something?

We went to this place called 2am something afterwards for desserts! Yah my memory is awesome.

So anyway the place was really nicely decorated. The seats came in the form of sofas! Super nice to lie down and relak.

But the waiter guy was a bit… off. When we asked for recommendations, the first thing he told us was,

“Do I look like I have a sign that says ‘Ask for Recommendations’?”

Well no duh actually you kinda do.

Overall the service was inattentive, although I guess if you’re there with someone speshul and you actually want people not to hiew you, the place wouldn’t be a bad choice.

The following are some super grainy photos cos of the dim lighting.

The end.

Mad Jack’s

Had dinner with the bf at Mad Jack’s last weekend. He wanted to eat Long John Silver’s at first but eh, I don’t really know why we changed our plans.

I think I should stop being so mean to him and start eating what he wants for a change haha. :P

On our way.

Bf!

We went out on a finger (as opposed to limb cos that would be stretching it) and spent $6.90 on cheese fries! Think it’s quite expensive for a plate of fries but omg, they were so good!

Cheese fries yums!

Loooved it max! They were so generous with the cheese. *bliss*

The rest of our food wasn’t all that fantastic though. The burger was very normal, and my grilled fish was also very normal. Aiya normal tasting food is very boring to describe la.

Bf’s miserable looking burger.

My grilled fish in cream sauce.

You know looking back at the photos just confirmed my suspicions that I have been ill-treating my poor bf hahaha. Compare his burger with my meal wtf. I’m like underfeeding him or something.

Ok random photo of kitty to end the post!

Looking very warily into the balcony but actually there was nothing there zzz.

PS. My iPhone is now royally bricked and I’m having withdrawal symptoms from not being able to surf net 24/7 haa. Deciding between 1) Bugging Apple/Singtel until they replace my phone, at the expense of using my pager-like Nokia till then, or 2) Taking it to Sim Lim to repair for $100+.

La Nonna gathering

Had dinner at La Nonna sometime late November to celebrate Chong Han’s bday. The food itself was a bit disappointing.

The pizza and lamb were not bad, but their mashed potatoes tasted like salt, and risotto tasted like low quality rice with diluted campbell mushroom soup and a lot of pepper. Eurgh ok no more talk about the food. Photos!

Group shot!

We proceeded to some void deck near Holland V in the fashion of true bengs & lians. We were going to try the wine that Aloy brought back from Australia (a decidedly un-beng/lian activity).

It was good! First time that I actually loved the taste of wine can! It was so smooth and the taste was… aiya ok maybe I shouldn’t expose my noobness by attempting to describe the taste of wine haha.

Us & the legendary wine. It’s in the nondescript-looking box.

Went to Chong Han’s place for dessert afterwards but no more photos dunno why. Photographer never do his job. Abrupt end.

Window on the Park

Pretty chandelier at lobby.

Had the lunch buffet at Window on the Park restaurant @ Holiday Inn Park View yesterday afternoon with the mum!

There was a 1-for-1 promotion going on (it’s already over btw). It only came up to $45 for the both of us. Super worth it!

There was chilli crab, which the mum loved, drunken prawns, kebab, sashimi, etc. They were not say super heavenly, but good enough for me. :)

Ps. Just dyed my hair with the Liese bubble foam dye thing just now! Will take some photos soonish! My hair is quite evenly dyed so I’m happy!
