Coughs hehe…

Yesterday I managed to tell someone that I was going to stop helping her with something. And my god it was harder than I thought. But I’m proud of myself!

I always assumed that my hints were not strong enough, but if I ever gathered enough courage to tell her in the face that “I’m not going to do this anymore”, it would work. But I never got to that stage because I’m a wimp.

Yesterday I said it. It did not work. Disbelief max! She continued like she didn’t hear me and asked me to help her with something else in the future. I repeated myself around 4-5 times… before she realised that I was actually serious and my decision couldn’t be overruled by her unbelievably thick skin and obstinateness.

In the end it somehow seemed to be my fault for not being helpful. But, meh. /waves hands dismissively. That’s not the truth and I know it, which is all that matters.

I really don’t like people who bulldoze over other people’s opinions and take advantage of the fact that others are more polite and don’t really want to say no.

Onwards to a brighter future without commitments that I never signed up for, yo!

Ummkay.

I just threw up. Feeling quite dizzy now but significantly better compared to pre-puking.

Upon conducting an AAR (After-Action Review), I realise that I did not have any water today… only 1 glass of teh peng for lunch, and 1 can of coke at about 8pm.

Add the 2 bars of dark chocolate (which has higher cocoa content than regular milk choc) I snacked on in the afternoon, and we have a record high intake of caffeine for me in a day.

No wonder my heart was beating super fast, my head was throbbing, and I felt short of breath. It was sooo uncomfortable.

Urgh. How horrible. I didn’t know that my body had such an adverse reaction to caffeine.

Meh.

I’m feeling quite imbalanced now so ramble I shall.

See I hate the part where I feel obliged to have a title for my posts. I find it highly unnecessary and quite against the spirit of blogging really. I have thus rebelliously and very purposely not put a title for this post. Ha! /cheap thrill

I was just chirpily typing a post on how I’m putting on a face mask and that I feel happy about it… y’know, being the frivolousness that is me.

But then before I could post… I realised… what on earth can I title this!? “My Beauty Diary Collagen Firming Mask”? That sounds waaaayyy too serious and people would be expecting a full review, which I wasn’t gonna do.

“Happy about masking?” (wtf) That’s just very non-indicative of the content of the post.

So you see my dilemma? Ok I admit it’s quite pleasant that my dilemma in all of life’s complexities is this but it’s still kind of a headache.

Should I possibly just do away with having categories altogether? I mean who am I kidding? A structured blog, with fixed categories… as if people come to my blog thinking “Hmmm perhaps today I’ll read all the posts under Food -> Eating Out”.

Ahhhh. /bites nails

What do I doooo.

Thought that I should dedicate some attention to the k-dramas in my life. Right now I’m watching 49 Days… it’s awesome.

Some call them unrealistic, but what is life without deep everlasting love, gut wrenching illnesses and mystical nine-tailed foxes? Oh right it’s called reality. Meh no thanks.

The elections are really getting to me.

I see countless tweets and Facebook messages circulating, about how PAP is not  a good government, that they are arrogant, that they do not admit to their mistakes (esp re: floods/mas selamat), how they do not listen to the people, how they are homophobic… etc, etc, etc.

People are not happy about Chia Shi-Lu getting a seat in Tanjong Pagar GRC out of nowhere, more people are not happy about Tin Pei Ling, etc, etc, etc.

It is obvious that many Singaporeans want change, and they want to bring PAP down.

While I am moved that politically, we are not as apathetic as we believed ourselves to be, it is, however, extremely unsettling how things are panning out.

How are people deciding who to vote for?

This tweet pretty much sums it up:

Are people anti-PAP or pro-Opposition? Such a thin fine line it is… #sgelections

It seems that people are merely wanting to not vote PAP. They may not feel for opposition parties or their candidate(s), they may not share opposition parties’ visions or ideals, some may not even know who are in the opposition parties (maybe except Nicole Seah).

But there is one thing they are sure of them. Which is that they are not the PAP.

And this seems to be their main or only reason why they are supporting these parties, whichever one happens to be contesting for their constituency.

I ask – is this reason enough to sway our vote towards an opposition party? Because they are not PAP? Really?

If you follow #sgelections on Twitter, you will see tweets such as the following:

Now i know why foreigners think we’re a 3rd world country, b’cos u people make it sounds like that under the leadership of PAP. #sgelections

This morning, the PAP lorry drove past my house. On speakers: They wanted our votes. I kinda snorted… #therebelvote #sgelections

There is much mud-slinging and mockery/sarcasm for PAP for whatever they do or do not do.

I ask – why is there so little discussion on what the opposition parties are doing or offering us?

I desperately hope that Singaporeans are not wanting change for the sake of change. I hope that we all can question and find out – exactly what changes are these, how they plan to do it, why they want to do it, and who is the person heading it (I don’t mean his name).

Do not blindly vote for the opposition because you dislike PAP. We all want Singapore to progress, and we want the best people to lead us.

I hope that we can give credit, where credit is due.

I hope that we can be mature enough to acknowledge that not all PAP candidates are awful just by the vitue of being in the PAP. I hope that we do not discredit worthy candidates out of spite for the PAP.

I hope that we do not glorify the opposition’s every word and action just because they are not the PAP. I hope that we can also recognize their mistakes, seek to understand what they want to do for our country, before making an informed decision whether to vote for them or not.

Our votes make a difference. Let us be critical. Let us be discerning.

But above all, let us vote for the best people that will best represent us and serve us. Let us vote for the people with integrity, intelligence, altriusm, and dedication, regardless of party, language, gender, race, religion or orientation.

Ok?
