I attended a wedding dinner at SEA Aquarium with my mum recently, as her plus one. Again, I attempted to curl my hair, but either the (crazy) humidity is not having it, or my hair iron has reached the end of its road.
This hair is after 2 rounds of hair spray, blow drying upside down, and curling in 2 layers (which I have never done before). And still, the curls died sometime into dinner. What do I have to do to make my curls stay?!
We got to the location at around 7, and the cocktail area was around a cylindrical tank. We sat there admiring the fishes while waiting to enter the dinner area.
When the clock struck 8, it was finally time to go in, and this was what greeted us.
It must be the most unique wedding venue I’ve been to so far. Probably cost a pretty penny, too. The seats were in 3 tiers, and my mum and I got a table right in front of the huge glass panel. Lucky us. :)
Having a huge aquarium as a backdrop while dining is not an everyday experience!
I hate it when photos are grainy and low-quality, but it’s just not practical to lug a DSLR around on a normal day. Hopefully, the day that camera photos are super high quality, will come very soon!
The floral decorations were lovely too. First time seeing trees at a wedding dinner! I think they’re meant to be sakura?
Anyhow, the trees created a very romantic and whimsical atmosphere. Food-wise, it was average, but I guess you can’t have everything eh.
I have to say though… when I came here as a visitor, there were notices requesting silence, and flash photography was forbidden.
But uh… during the wedding dinner, somehow these rules were just thrown out like they never existed. Loud music, floodlights that shone like lighthouses, and the emcee’s booming voice resonated throughout the entire dinner.
I thought that even the slightest noise and small camera flashes are supposed to traumatise the fishes? What in the what?
Did I just witness the power of what money can do? My, my.
I attended a wedding of my JC classmate and his very sweet and pretty girlfriend (now wife) recently. Actually, she’s also from the same JC and has been attending so many of our gatherings that I think it’s more right to say that I attended a wedding of 2 friends. :)
A gratuitous selfie to start things rolling, haha. I made attempts to curl my hair before heading out, but the humidity and heat completely killed them before I even got into the cab. By the time I reached the wedding venue, my hair had turned into a mass of frizz. Ha.
It was a gorgeous wedding with beautiful details that the bride obviously put so much thought into. The dessert table looked so romantic and dreamlike!
The wedding favours were actually useful. Not an easy feat. Haha. I learned from a classmate that Molton Brown wedding favours were a standard feature of weddings at Fullerton. Nice!
The dishes were really good as well, and over 4 dishes featured abalone haha. Obviously, no expenses were spared. But I couldn’t really bite into the abalone with my sensitive teeth & braces, so my neighbour benefited from them.
I was a sobbing mess when they were doing their speeches too. :’) I mean, I’m usually already a sobbing mess at weddings. But it was on a larger magnitude this time.
On hindsight, I wish I took more photos but I was too engrossed with eating and crying, so there are only 3 here… aiya.
Feel so happy for the 2 of them. ♥ :’)
