Slight shopping madness

So I’ve spent a bit beyond budget this month. Which is code for I have been on a freaking rampage. Most are spree items so I don’t have them with me yet (sad), but here are those that I have!

First up cute ballet flats from Mitju! Saw these at Ion while out with the bf and they are so fun and quirky… and only $26 ehehhee. Who could resist? The suede heart shape cut outs are so cute!

Second, something pretty generic… got a top from Bonitochico.

aDSC_051

It arrived in the mail today. Material’s not bad… colour’s unique (for now at least), and I’m seriously short on tops so this is good! Oh and the buttons are cute. I know that Singapore is practically season-less but this is so summery!! Me likeys.

Last for now (before my massive hauls arrive ehhehehe), something I adore. A sundress from Holland V!

Went with my other bf aka Alien Choy last weekend for brunch and decided to walk into this apparel shop which I always thought was godly expensive. But it’s not!

Saw this dress when we walked past and Alien Choy commented “Eh your dress”… and taa-daa SHE’S RIGHT. IT IS INDEEDYDOO MY DRESS NAO! EHEHEHEHE!

The prints are sweet without being gaudy and I can somehow see myself in this dress on a yatch wearing shades or sipping tea and nibbling scones on a weekday morning or being an elf in some enchanted garden and frolicking around WAHAHHAHA.

My mum says “Don’t you have so many of these dresses???” but she is WRONG (I mean seriously). When I asked her which dresses I have that are similar, she pointed out a green dress & a hot pink maxi dress wtf. The similarity ends with the SPAGHETTI STRAPS, MUM.

Next time she buys another t-shirt or a pair of pants I’m going to do the same thing to her!!

Ok thus ends my haul post I can’t believe I stay up till 12 almost every night when my work starts at 8 FML.

Wedding costs are WTF

Before I start, I would like to clarify that no I am not getting married (yet). But I like to be prepared for future events instead of being shocked & flustered & penniless and shrieking “WTFBBQ A WEDDING COSTS WHAAAAAT? COUGHSPLUTTERBLOOD”.

So I was doing some homework & I am so incredulous!

A wedding consists of a truckload of items that are ridiculous in terms of price and nature. Examples include:

  • Wedding “package” consisting of dress, makeup and photography – $5,000 approx
  • Wedding cake – $500 approx (price at Bengawan Solo is $45/kg)
  • Venue & food – $20,000 approx, after factoring in ang pows, est $10,000.

Just for 1 evening… worth it or not!? I mean I get how a wedding is once in a lifetime but then a lot of things are once in a lifetime what. Like when I removed my wisdom teeth or saw maomao pee at the right spot or something. You don’t see me spending $15,000 on that!

And all these for something that barely lasts half a day… that no one probably remembers much of anyway. I probably remember more of my cousin’s 21st birthday than  my neighbour’s wedding.

In the end, it’s the person that matters… and no matter how much you spend (or how little), the day will always be a treasured memory for your loved ones. So why spend so much, sigh. I will never understand.

If I had to spend, I would do so on things like the honeymoon, or our wedding bands. At least I won’t feel like I’m burning money (for the wedding industry deities wtf).

I admit I like extravagance in general but not when calculations show that I have to set aside $800 monthly considering that we’re budgeting $25,000 for renovation (which is hella little ok). $800 is SADNESS & MISERY & PAIN.

Sniffle.

Lunch at home is the best!

Working has its ups and downs. The up being that I’m earning money of course, but it sucks to be eating at food courts for lunch everyday!

So as a perk for being on MC for the last 2 days, the mum cooked AWESOME salmon for me.

Behold!!! OMG don’t you just want to droll looking at it? Ok lah actually she’s not so talented cos I added the lemon & lemon pepper myself and told her how long to cook the salmon BUDDEN she still gets the credit cos I wouldn’t have gotten to eat it if she didn’t buy it!

It is pure LUV! Super yummy and perfect doneness for me, which is cooked on the outside but slightly raw on the inside. It is the ONLY WAY to eat salmon ok. Those that eat their salmon well done seriously are missing out. Slurp slurp.

For those interested,

Ingredients:

  • Thick juicy slice of salmon
  • Butter or margarine
  • 1/4 of a lemon
  • Lemon pepper

Directions:

  1. Heat butter in skillet.
  2. Place salmon in skillet, about 1 min on each side or when you can see from the side that the edges are cooked and the middle is still slightly pink.
  3. Remove salmon from skillet, drizzle with fresh lemon juice & sprinkle lemmon pepper generously.
  4. Dig in!

Easy or what!?

Went with CH, YS, Jeremy & gf to Desaru a few weeks back! Loved it ehehehe. It was only a very short drive from SG.

We had a fantastic seafood lunch which was a treat from CH’s parents woot. :P

The waves were super huge! We stayed there for some time & did some childish things like throw sand at each other hahaha. *长不大*

After that we went for a dip at the pool. In between there were lots of food & Monopoly Deal. I want to do it again soon!!!

We also managed to take some photos that I thought were quite koO|.

OPI Sweet As Annie-thing Review

DSC_1766

These are my nails in OPI Sweet as Annie-thing! I love the colour max!! Did it at Orchard Central B1 for only $6 hehehe. :D

The shade is towards a more orangey sort of red, with very subtle shimmers that can only be observed upon close inspection. Love how it sparkles ever so slightly as it catches the light.

Am gonna buy it for myself. Squeal. Hee.
