Clubbing
May 28th
So i went clubbing with 4 other girls. It’s a first! And it’ll probably be the last time. We went Butter Factory for ladies’ night n the queue was so obscenely looooong.
I don’t understand the guys. I would never pay to queue for 2 hours just to watch girls. Wtf? Don’t have internet?
The good:
- Dancing
- Music
- Free alcohol
The really bad:
- Insane queues (as if the queue outside wasn’t enough, we had to queue again to get our free drinks, urgh)
- People stepping on my toes incessantly
- Random dudes inching n grinding closer n closer to us discreetly. I swear they’re like the ninja cat on Youtube.
Anyway, the cons kinda outweigh all the pros, so I doubt I’ll want to club again, unless it’s all free drinks and free entry and no queue.
First H1N1 case confirmed in Singapore
May 27th
The first case of H1N1 in Singapore has been confirmed. Below is the article, via Channel News Asia:
SINGAPORE: Singapore has confirmed its first case of Influenza A (H1N1).
The patient is currently being treated at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and is in stable condition.
The patient is a 22-year-old Singaporean woman who was in New York from May 14-24.
She arrived back in Singapore from New York on SQ25 on 26 May at 6.30am. She began to develop a cough while onboard. She passed the thermal scanner uneventfully as she did not have fever then.
Later in the morning, she consulted a GP who decided to send her to TTSH via a 993 ambulance, given her travel history. She was immediately admitted for testing. Laboratory confirmation of her infection was made by midnight of 26 May.
The patient has been vigilant in monitoring her own condition and had sought immediate medical attention once she realized that she was unwell.
Her attending GP, through his quick response in activating the 993 ambulance for the patient, had also helped to minimize the spread of infection from this case.
The Health Ministry says it has initiated contact tracing of her close contacts. They will be quarantined and provided with antiviral prophylaxis.
Passengers who had travelled in the same flight and were seated in rows 52 to 58 are urged to call the hotline at 1800-333 9999 to enable the MOH to check on their health condition.
The MOH adds that all medical practitioners and healthcare institutions should continue to be vigilant to suspect cases.
Singapore will continue with temperature screening for passengers entering Singapore at all checkpoints (land, sea and air).
All passengers passing through or entering Singapore are given Health Alert Notices on board their flights, advising them to monitor their own health if they have been to affected areas and to seek medical attention immediately if they are not well.
Shopping n Nails
May 26th
Miss Choy and I spent close to 4 hours in Bella-Kini last Sunday, and I got these:
Wanted to get only 2 things, but there was a buy 3 get 1 free thingy going on, soo… sigh. Anyway, they’re 2 tube dresses and 1 bikini. I love the bikini!
So pretty, hehe. Will be wearing it in Redang, woot!
And my nails in Krem de la Kremlin:
The pictures don’t really do the colour justice. It’s like a deep rose mauve shade in real life. I have it on my toenails too, and it matches my birks perfectly. *happy sigh*
Chilli cream crab & sambal kangkong
May 24th
The mum and I made some really delicious food the other night, and I mean really delicious.
The photos are not too outstanding cos we don’t score too high on the presentation bit, but I reassure you that the taste was nothing short of heavenly!
Sambal kangkong
… and…
Chilli butter crab
These dishes were so easy that I almost feel guilty for other people who pay so much to have them at those zi char stalls.
The taste of the sauce we made for the crab was so exquisite can! Buttery, smooth, with just the right amount of spiciness. Oh gawd, remembering it makes me want to have it again.
And the kang kong was so freakin’ easy la! Apparently the “secret” was to just be generous with the belachan. The difference in taste with and without is phenomenal.
Gah, now I’m hungry.
Polishes!
May 23rd
Just bought 2 nail polishes online! First up is a mauve creme polish by OPI, Kreme de la Kremlin:
Nice, right? I think it’ll look great for casual days like a lazy Sunday brunch. Pretty!
2nd on the list, we have Sun Showers by China Glaze:

I think it looks quite chic… light and classy feel… and it matches my new gold sandals. Hehe. This is my 2nd attempt at yellow polsh… the first one I bought was OPI’s Need Sunglasses:

It was quite an epic fail cos person 1 (that’s you Miss Choy) said:
Eee why you put yellow polish! Not nice!
And person 2 (friend’s bf) said:
Hahahaha why u put mustard on your nails… Hahahaha.
So amidst the Eee’s and Hahaha’s, perhaps it wasn’t the most flattering nail colour. –_-“ I had such high hopes too. I guess I’m more suited for subtle colours, although I’m so tempted by bright shades. C’est la vie.
