Wendy gets lost again
Don’t Singaporeans need to work or something?! Why was everywhere I went filled with people? Not children, not housewives… not senior citizens, but young, 30 something adults of working age!
I was feeling antsy and restless at home as usual, and decided to head out to study.
1st stop: Rail Mall Coffee Bean
Seemed like a fantastic choice in my head. Tranquil surroundings, air con, should be secluded…
Wrong.
Pretentious yuppie
It was filled with pretentious yuppies and other edgy looking people that made me feel super out of place with my files and notes and general cheapskate-ness (plonking myself down for hours with a cup of coffee, ahem).
And the carpark was full.
And so off I went.
2nd stop: Bt. Timah Shopping Centre
I rationalised that since it was a huge place, and it wasn’t even school term, it should technically be quite ideal.
Wrong.
The carpark was filled all the way up to the 5th storey, and the eateries were all filled with (you guessed it) working adults again. At 3.30 pm! Wtf!
And off I went.
3rd and final stop: West Coast
Following Journey to the West (Coast), Wendy Productions proudly introduces the exciting sequel, Journey to the West (Coast) Again.
Click on ‘minus’ sign to zoom out and view my approx route. (This time it was so confusing I couldn’t keep track.)
It started out peachy. I managed to find AYE (Tuas) instead of going to AYE (Keppel) this time.
I saw the Jurong Town Hall exit and thought,
Go West Coast they should say West Coast, not Jurong Town Hall right? (which is a very flawed logic on hindsight)
Wrong.
So I missed the exit. I had no idea where to exit, but (even I know ok) I knew I had to when I saw the ‘Please check that your tanks are at leat 3/4 full’ sign.
I almost reached Tuas Checkpoint.
I ended up at some road called West Cost Drive (which has the word ‘West Coast’ in it- it made sense to me), and went back and forth a couple (coughfivecough) of times before I conceded I was lost.
Wanted to drive to a carpark to calm myself down and take a look at the Street Directory (which will be of little use because WENDY CAN’T READ MAPS).
So anyway, the highlight of the entire trip happened.
I saw a McDelivery driver and a lightbulb went off in my navigation-challenged mind.
He will go to West Coast Mac because he’s a McDelivery man!
Wrong.
He went to Jalan Buroh (wtf), then to Pandan Road, which was some industrial area. Apparently he was making a delivery, not on the way back from one.
I think the McDelivery driver was a bit wary of me, because he turned to look at me suspiciously zzz. *paperbag over head*
Eventually, I somehow retraced my route…. and er, this time, I ended up at West Coast…. but…
…..I have no idea how I got there.

Erm… next time, try Vivocity car park… basement 2, can park near the entrance of Giant. The Starbucks on the first floor (not the second floor one) is not that pack on weekdays.
Or, TCC at Keppel Bay. This map is more accurate.
Or, Sentosa. $2 per person + $2 per car + $1.07 (whole day parking) = $5.07. It will be quite worth it if you spend at least 4 hours there.

Sylv: Why r u so mean. don’t laugh at poor lost Wendy!
Wendy: I think you should ask your parents for a GPS. Those that can announce, turn right. turn left. 300m ahead. turn left again. those kind, you know? In the long run, it’ll save them A LOT of petrol.
