Girls nowadays are putting on more makeup than ever. Sometimes, I think the girls I see on the streets put on so much makeup that they don’t even remotely resemble themselves without makeup.
They seem to rely on makeup so much that they become consumed by it.
Ugly eyes? There are coloured contacts, fake lashes, eyeliner.
Small boobs? Say hi to push-ups!
Dull skin? Foundation and blush are your best friends!
…. Wait a minute.
Is that really called getting “prettier”? Or is that just creating the illusion of looking better with all the products on you?
The avalanche of beauty aids claim to be helping plain janes to become just a little bit more.
But what happens when it all comes off at the end of the day? We look into the mirror, and we see our face bare, without the (expensive) mask we put on in the morning.
Our eyes become lifeless, our skin loses its “glow”, even our lips lose the smile it had.
All the confidence we had, washes off along with the make-up. How much “help” is too much?
