A Summary

So Shadowfox is anti-homosexuality. He thinks it’s unnatural, wrong, yada.

Priss started a campaign to “ban” him, stating that he has “compromised the integrity of the community”.

The mediaslut thinks that Priss should just get over it and let the poof mechanism weed offensive posts out itself.

Sicarii says Priss is being kinda hypocritical, claiming that she’s pointing fingers at Shadowfox for being intolerant.. when she *cough*.

How ah like that? This kinda incident is something that would’ve eventually happened, given the many, many things that will offend many, many different groups of people. It’s just a matter of when. We have the pro-homosexuality, the anti-homosexuality, different races, different religoins different income groups, different education levels, different genders, the obese, the pro-life, the pro-choice… the list is endless lah.

Imagine the future “Shadowfoxes” and “Prisses”.

These are obviously controversial subjects, but what about borderline cases like maybe…

NTU hostel security guards should just die. All they do is sleep.

I mean, if security guards surf blogs, they could get very very offended… haha ahem. *disclaimer: I don’t actually think they should die. It’s just an example.

The point I’m trying to make here is that some people will have some points of view that will offend some other people a lot.

What is acceptable will ultimately depend on Ping.Sg’s level of tolerance, not Shadowfox, not Priss, not Mediaslut, nor Sicarii. After all, if enough people are riled up enough, they would un-pong it, and then poof it… Or Uzyn can choose to have some guidelines on what is acceptable, and what is not.

As for my stand on the gay issue. I’m fine with them. They can be nice people. And duh, they’re human beings too. But it’s undeniable that evolution will slowly eradicate homosexuality because they cannot reproduce. So erm, nature kinda didn’t really intend for us all (or most) to be homosexuals. If homosexuality gets to too large an extent, it will eventually mean the end of the human race. No one can dispute this… but this doesn’t mean we should treat them badly or discriminate. That’s another issue altogether.
