After a failed attempt at having a complicated layout with lots of graphics (which took donkey years to load and loaded wrongly on IE browsers), I’ve finally fell in love.
And this time, it’s going to last!
How do I know? Because this is exactly what I’ve been looking for, and more. It’s organised, and it loads FAST, because of the simple and efficient CSS and PHP codes. And despite it being so minimalist, it still looks purrfect. The searchbar is really pretty!
Swoon. Finally.

Went to Jurong Point for a manicure with Minmin after we had our group meeting with our refugee groupmate (who happens to be very anal, bah). We were late for half an hour because of above-mentioned refugee, but good thing they still had people to do our nails for us!
Poor souls who arrived after us were asked to come back on other days. Aww. We had to sit right at the store entrance tho. Zzz.
So we got our nails done! I had Cranberry Pink (name courtesy of Min; no idea what’s the actual name) and Min had some sandy colour she saw on a mag, hahaha. It was pretty tho.
We had to survive an hour without blotching our nails, so we had to eat somewhere that fufilled the following requirements:
We wanted to go for sushi, but after seeing the snaking queue, we decided to head for Swensen’s instead.
I knew I wouldn’t finish a creamy pasta, but I couldn’t resist the salmon. Salmon leh! We shared some fried mushrooms too… could dip them in tartar sauce. Notch badz at all!
Minmin had quite a nice looking dish of crayfish pasta, which I have no pictures of… because… erm, cos my food came first what. So when hers came it meant only one thing. EATING TIME. She says the fried fish was horrible tho.
Oh!! I almost forgot! Our hands had to be in weirdly contorted positions such that each nail wouldn’t touch anything, so this is how we ate:
Wahahahaha. (You may try ignore Min’s monstrous cleavage, which is not the focus of the picuture, but I don’t think you can.)

I had a few thoughts as I was reading this article, and a response to it. I’ve attended City Harvest on quite a few occassions since I was Sec 3 (that’s…2001, I think). So anyway, as much as I was happy that the church was reaching out and changing the lives of so many people, one incident made me decide not to go back for any more services. (I still go for the X’mas stuff though.)
It was the one where they were promoting Ho Yeow Sun a.k.a. Sun Ho a.k.a. The Pastor’s Wife’s CD during the sermon. I found that incredibly unclassy, and a complete turn off. What was he thinking?
Halfway through his sermon, there was some sort of an interlude and he suddenly started touting. “2 CDs free poster! 5 CDs free cap! Buy 10 and you get a T-shirt!”. I can’t remember the exact numbers, but it was along those lines. I’m not even kidding.
I know it’s meant to be like us supporting her endeavours and stuff, but I found it incredibly inappropriate to expoit the church-goers (who will inevitably buy a few copies to show support) to boost album sales. A girl from my cell group at that time actually went to buy 20 and distributed it among us. It wasn’t as if all proceeds were going to some charity… sigh. (My info on this may be wrong, but even if there was a charity involved, no mention of the name of the charity nor it’s purpose was described at all.)
I think the sermon should have been uninterrupted by silly marketing campaigns, to a captive audience, no less. It is a church, and it should concentrate on being one, not a profit-making enterprise, and certainly not as a platform for his wife’s singing career.
It’s 8:16am and I haven’t slept all night, so I don’t think I’m making much sense, but I hope you know what I mean.

How long does it take for this site to load? It took around 15 seconds on my laptop, and like 2 minutes for my roomie’s… and the layout is totally wrong. Anyone? (.. hears echo..) I have cookies…?
